Rant.
I read many blogs from the left to the right. At first I was intrigued by the “creative” ways that many churches where reaching out to the lost. I feel as many times I do not create environments where I can have a meaningful conversation with the lost. However, since the novelty of seeing their tricks has wore off I am about sick seeing the way they have lowered the call of ministry and of Christianity.
I understand that all things are lawful but don’t they see any thing to be not expedient. Really guys, you are going to have a meeting of leaders of a church/ pastors and you are going to waste you time playing guitar hero. What other profession do you know would have a conference and start it off with such a foolish event. We are leaders in the greatest organization in the world with the highest calling to bring sinners to our Precious Jesus. I know you know this you talk about it all the time and complain about how us more traditional churches have lost sight of this purpose.
When Jesus turned to the crowd following Him and said “you must take up your cross, deny yourself and follow after me” many people left becuase they were not willing to make that commitment. If many of you were alive back then you would have followed behind Him and told the retreating crowd “hey, it isn’t as hard as He made it sound you can continue on as you where .. but let’s get together once a week to rock” That isn’t relevent it is irreverent!
Today I make a recommittment to the Word of God as Josiah did. I will walk after the Lord and follow His commandments, regardless if I am walking alone and do not appear to be cool while doing it. I will not allow the winds of culture to dictate they way I follow my Master. Culture changes as morality declines. The Word of God is the same yesterday and will be the same tomorrow. It will be my light during these dark times.
