The Baptist College for World Evangelism is a concentrated six month Bible College that gives students the opportunity to learn missionary methods on the mission field. A doctor trains in a hospital, a mechanic trains in a garage, a pilot trains at an airport, and we believe that missionaries should train on the mission field! Unfortunately, most young missionaries go to the field without any first-hand training. Statistics show that fifty percent of those who do make it to the mission field come home after their first term and never return.
Young missionaries are often not aware that many unforeseen circumstances and unknown difficulties await them in their first term. Culture shock, language barriers, health concerns, and a host of other problems become stumbling stones between missionaries and the very people they are trying to reach. Baptist College for World Evangelism was created to help reduce or eliminate these problems through intensive on the field training.
The Baptist College for World Evangelism was started with one purpose in mind: to help Churches and Colleges build stronger and more effective missions programs.
With the help of many veteran missionaries and the cooperation of pastors from around the world, the Baptist College for World Evangelism is uniquely qualified to equip students for a lifetime of productive ministry.
Although the college is located in Peru, South America, it is not exclusively for students who are considering a ministry in a Spanish-speaking country. The Baptist College for World Evangelism is a place for any dedicated Christian who has a heart for souls and a desire to learn.
Through Biblical methods and practical training, our students learn to adapt to other cultures, how to raise support, and how to build independent Baptist churches wherever the Lord may send them. Many students have already graduated from this program and are now working effectively in ministries at home and around the world.
The Baptist College for World Evangelism strives to reach these goals through teaching, preaching and practicing a biblical plan of world evangelism. The college does not teach social reform, ecological world balance, or better farming techniques. We are only concerned with training our students to pattern their lives after the example of the Lord Jesus Christ - the Greatest Missionary the world has ever known. Christ established the principles of biblical discipleship and personally trained twelve men who turned the world upside down for God.
Our faculty is made up of experienced men of God who have proven themselves faithful to the Lord's work. These men spend hours personally teaching and training our students. We believe the key to world evangelism is training leaders to train leaders (II Tim. 2:2).
Our graduates are taught that the Biblical pattern of discipleship which was set by our Lord is still the greatest method for reaching the world today.
