Matthew 9:36-38, 38

I. He is the Lord of the Harvest

a. He said that He would build His church Matthew 16:18

b. We work but He gives the increase I Corinthians 3:4-8

c. He convicts the sinner John 16:7-11

d. We are unable to do anything without His power John 15:5

II. Pray

a. Much depends on our prayer—James 4:2

b. He asks us to command Him Isaiah 45:11

c. We know that He will hear and answer this prayer I John 5:14-15

d. We must pray in faith Hebrews 11:6

e. Here he commands us to pray

III. The Lord of the Harvest has commanded us to go and promised

a. He commanded them to go even though they were praying Matthew 10:5

b. He promised to go with us as we go Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8

c. We are sent John 20:21

IV. Send forth means to be thrust into His harvest

a. Send forth is the same idea as what happened to Jesus in Mark 1:12

b. Ask God to put the woe and necessity on them I Corinthians 9:16-17

c. Make them know that they have been given a ministry of the Lord Colossians 4:17

d. That God would give them a Heavenly vision Acts 26:12-20

V. How to pray

a. Know the need John 4:35

b. Learn about other countries

c. Romans 15:30-33

i. Deliverance

ii. Acceptance

iii. Joy

d. Colossians 4:3-4

i. Open doors

ii. Make it clear

iii. Culturally relevant
