Joh_3:36

Notice that this verse does not state that unbelief will incur the wrath of God, or produce the wrath of God. Rather, it says that the wrath of God will "abide" (Gr. ="meno," i.e., stay) on him. This is due to the fact that men are born sinners (cf. Psa_51:5; Rom_3:10, 23). The unbeliever does not bring down God's wrath on him, but he is born with God's wrath already abiding on him.

This fact should motivate us to warn the wicked of his way (Ezk 3:18-19), and seek to get the good news of the Gospel to the sinner. Without belief, the lost man will endure that which is already placed upon him.   MOW

Joh_13:1 He loved them until the end

I thought this was an interesting verse when I read it. The Bible says in verse 1, “…he loved them unto the end.” It made me realize that once you have a true disciple that this person will be someone that is with you the rest of your life. It may not mean that they are physically with you all your life, but your disciples will be people that no matter what time of the day or night, you will be there for them, and always be doing everything you can to help them be a success. Jesus even referred to them as “His own” They were more than friends, but rather became his family. JAH

Joh_14:28

He went away and was received into heaven. His going placed the responsibility of the gospel to all nations in our hands. The promise of His return provides both the accountability for our stewardship of the gospel and His mission and the great expectation we have to meet face to face with the one who did so much for us. His return will allow us to receive Him with the honor that He deserves by having a great crowd to welcome Him of those that believe our testimony (2Th_1:10) and to properly admire Him. What a great responsibility. JDP
