Ruth
Rth_1:1, 2 Ruth made a decision to follow Naomi and God. Ruth decided she would do what ever it took to follow through with that decision. Ruth allowed God to direct her path. God delivered her and rewarded her faithfulness. Do we allow God to do the same in our life? Are we going to the field at all? Two choices to Go or Stay. If we go we should go regardless of what the field looks like form the outside. Because when God is in it the field can appear barren but God can allow it to be bountiful. If we stay then we should be a Naomi and be an encouragement to those that go. Naomi encouraged Ruth and helped guide her the best way she knew how. I see by Naomi encouraging Ruth, God also blessed Naomi for her faithfulness to Ruth.
May God help us all to be a Ruth and Go, or a Naomi and Stay but encourage those who do go and be a blessing to them.

Rth_1:14
Often time’s two people may have the same desire to do something. What makes one follow through with that desire. In this verse there are two people who both long to be with Naomi but only one cleaves to her. So many times as Christians we have a desire to serve God and a burden to reach this world; we weep for the lost and cry out to God to save them and send labors. But when the time comes for us to commit our lives to reach this world and the millions of people lost that are dying with out Christ. We do as Or’pah, when given a way out we take it. Not that we don’t care we just are not really ready for the sacrifice it will take. I have no doubt that Or’pah really loved her mother-in-law Naomi; she wept for her and kissed her before she went her own way. Just as we give money to the missionary, and pray for them before we go back to our own life. Ruth wept for her, and clave unto her. Ruth could not imagine life without Naomi in it. Both women loved her, both women wanted to go with her, the difference one was willing to sacrifice and do anything to be with Naomi.
We have a burden and a desire to reach this world but our we willing to do what it takes to do that. Are we willing to clave unto our decisions and our commitment to go or given a way out will we decide to go home? ACH |
