Build Your Brother’s Name

Deuteronomy 25:9 Then shall his brother’s wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother’s house.

God had a plan where men would help each other be successful and carry on their families. If a man died his family could perpetuate his name. He would be building up his brother’s house. It was a great shame and dishonor to be so selfish that you would not worry about building your brother’s name. They would spit in your face.

Today we must think of others. We must build other ministries. We must not be out for ourselves. I want to build my brother’s name!

Tomorrow’s reading Deuteronomy 26

Enoch walked with God!

Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

This is one of the wildest verses in the Bible. Here is a man that walked with God and went on to heaven! This was a time when very few were seeking God. Very few were concerned about what God wanted them to do! The world will be so wicked in just a few verses that God will destroy the world with a flood!

I want to walk with God. I want to know Him more than anything else. That is the whole purpose of life, to know God!
