Calling On The Lord

Genesis 4:26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.

One brother has killed another. Sin is having it’s consequences and men finally begin to call upon the Lord. Why is it that we have to wait until after tragedy and seeing the family fall apart before we decide to call on the Lord?

Tomorrow’s reading Genesis 5

Let me know how much I need God!

Psalm 39:4 LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.

It is so easy to begin to think that we are what we are not. We think that we are strong. We think that life will never end. We think that we will never need God. It is good for God to remind us of how weak we are and how much we need Him.

Consider today. Think about your life. Quit playing with it. Make it count. Seek the Lord Jesus.
