Fruitful For Christ: Using Tools that Teach

Fruitful for Christ: Using Tools that Teach

Children are a gift from God. The privilege of parenting comes with the serious responsibility of training our young ones in the ways of the Lord. Moses, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, put it this way:

And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.Deuteronomy 6:7

There is no substitute for God’s Word: it is alive and active and has the power to change lives (Hebrews 4:12). When we read it to our children, help them memorize it and hide it in their hearts, and teach them to obey it, we’re setting them up to be successful in God’s eyes (Joshua 1:8).

A teaching tool

It’s SO important to take advantage of every opportunity to teach our children biblical truths. With the launching of my children’s series, Louie the Lawnmower, I hope to give you more tools to use as you train your kids to love and serve the Lord. Each book is designed to teach concepts from the Bible in a kid-friendly way.

Louie’s BIG day! is the first book in the series about an adventurous red lawnmower who used to live at the hardware store with his friends. Now he’s on his own and it’s time to find out if he can do the job he was made to do. Featuring timeless characters who share God’s truth about purpose and friendship, this book is fun for the whole family.

Another tool

Louie and the gang are back in the new book in the series, Louie & the Leaf Pile. In this adventure, leaves are beginning to fall and Louie wants to be a hero. He comes up with a plan to tackle a mountain of autumn leaves. But in his desire for recognition, he forgets a very important component. Louie shares an unforgettable lesson he learns about pride in this story – a lesson we all need to learn.

We can’t teach our children Bible truths we don’t know. As parents, it’s vital for us to be seeking the Lord and growing in our relationship with Him every day. He wants us to live a life that showcases Him. The Bible puts it this way:

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” John 15:5

It starts with you

I’ve written a book for women, Outrageously Fruitful, designed to put the focus back where it belongs – on Christ. It’s a 10-week Bible study made up of a series of brief daily lessons that encourage you to take an honest look at your current behavior.

It’s my desire that the Lord will use this study as a tool to reignite your faith and put it into action. The key to producing “much fruit” is abiding in Christ. Let Him make you fruitful and pass on His truth to the next generation.

Maria I. Morgan is an inspirational writer and speaker. She is the award-winning author of Louie’s BIG day! Regardless of the age of her audience, her goal is the same: to share God’s truth and make an eternal difference. She lives in the muggy South with her husband, two retrievers, and two Maine coon kitties ~ the perfect mix to fuel her creativity for years to come!
