Omega Baptist Church in Arequipa, Peru

I am in Arequipa, Peru with my pastor and several members from Vision Baptist Church. It was good to get to see the three families that are serving as missionaries here. It is also exciting to see a young family and a single young lady here training for missions service. When you fly into Peru at night you will go miles and miles and see nothing but darkness. After traveling for a long time you wonder if you will ever see light again down. Then seemingly out of no where you will see a community of light. This is the same feeling I felt as I walked upon Omega Baptist Church for the first time.

This Tuesday night I have the great honor to be part of the organization service for this great church plant. I was so impressed and excited about what I saw today as I looked into the eyes of the young people I taught. They were so hungry to hear the simple truths of the Bible. This can not be said about the majority of people here. They are not looking for Christ because their vaccinated version of religion keeps them blinded to the fact that they are far from Him. However, the young people seemed eager to learn because many of them had just accepted Christ over the last couple of months.

It is apparent that Omega will be a church made up of people with full hearts and open Bible which makes them most needed, explosive, and exciting organisms in the world!! I am so thankful to have been able to worship our Risen Savior with them today. God is growing me in a wonderful way here. He has reminded me of so many truths I have a tendency to ignore. In my personal devotional time I am coming to the end of the Gospel records and it it sees to be so fresh and alive here out of my comfort zone.
