Eldoret, Kenya
Church Planting Missionary to Kenya since 2015

Biography

As an eight-year-old boy, I placed my faith in Christ after a Sunday evening sermon. When I was nine years old God used a missionary to Australia to place a desire for world missions into my heart. Shortly after completing my Bachelors in Missions at Northland Baptist Bible College, my wife and I started down the deputation road.

Two years later, we arrived in Eldoret, Kenya on October 27, 2017. After being warmly welcomed by Randy and Phyllis Stirewalt, veteran missionaries here of forty-one years, we settled into a house and began language school. Since then we have been working in several different capacities.

Training Men. One of our main objectives for coming to Kenya was to train local men to be pastors, missionaries, and leaders in the local church. To accomplish that I have been teaching in 5 of the Bible Institutes located in Eldoret, Kitale, Nandi, Mombasa, and one in Mutufu, Uganda. By God’s grace, we started the Mombasa school in January of 2019.

Reaching Muslims. Another goal of coming to Kenya is to reach Muslims, and specifically Somali Muslims with the Gospel. There are approximately 13 million Somalis living in Somalia, Puntland, and Somaliland. In neighboring Kenya, there are approximately 3 million Somalis scattered throughout. Given that Somalia is not exactly an easy country to walk into and start a church, we will be focusing on reaching Somalis here in Kenya and Lord willing will one day be able to go to Somalia as well. Many today are afraid of Islam, but we as Christians are called to reach these image-bearers of God with the Gospel message.

Evangelism and Discipleship. Sharing the Gospel is always to be a focus of a Christians life. We are able to come alongside other Kenyan Christians and share the Gospel both door to door and through Gospel Crusades. We truly do thank the Lord for those who have gotten saved and baptized. Discipleship is also of utmost importance. It has been a joy to be able to lead several pastors book studies, ladies Bible studies, discipleship classes with teens, as well as several other discipleship times.
