Pray for Paraguay

Sandwiched between Brazil, Argentina, and Bolivia, Paraguay has become a key trans-shipment point in drug trafficking and smuggling. A major marijuana producer, Paraguay has also transformed into a pivotal route for Andean cocaine and a sanctuary for criminals and gang-affiliated drug organizations. According to The Rio Times, one Brazilian gang in particular, the powerful and influential PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital), has begun fighting over land in southern Paraguay. This has led to uneasiness among the innocent citizens of Paraguay and those carrying out criminal activities.

Historically, Paraguay has had a low GDP equivalent to that of Namibia and has scored poorly on corruption perception indices. Drug trafficking has actually been seen as “regular market economy.” Those involved in the trade and export of drugs act as though it is part of normal supply and demand. Members of the Paraguayan government have also openly defended and protected criminals, as allyship with gangs has been seen as advantageous and protective.

Pray for Paraguay. The people are lost and on their way to Hell in a country that is choosing to normalize drug trafficking and smuggling. They are finding their hope, safety, and protection in sin and in sinful men. The Paraguayans are in dire need of the saving knowledge of our just God.

Who among us would give their life to the country of Paraguay?
