Prayer based on promises

Today’s reading II Samuel 4-7

II Samuel 7:27 For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.

God had shown David that He would build him a house. God was going to bless David. David knew that simply because he had God’s promise.

When David knew that he had God’s promise he was then encouraged to pray and ask for what he knew that God would do. Isn’t it exciting to be able to pray based on what God promises.

If you will get into the Bible, God’s Word, you will find promises on every page. Promises where God promises to do great things in your life. He promises to do things that you do not deserve, but He promises.

We will have a heart to ask for things when we know that God hears and answers prayer. We will have a heart to seek God when we realize that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Go to Him today in prayer. Ask, believing. You have His promise!
