Satan rejoices when God’s people fall

Today’s reading I Samuel 27-31

I Samuel 31:9 And they cut off his head, and stripped off his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to publish it in the house of their idols, and among the people.

Saul and Jonathan are dead. They have died in battleo. You would think that their being killed in battle was the end of the story but in many ways it was just the beginning. The Philistines are quick to run to all their houses of worship and to publish abroad that their god has conquered the God of Israel. They want the world to know that their enemy has perished. They want to attribute it to their gods in their temples.

Do you realize what happens in the spiritual world when one of God’s people fall in sin? Satan loves to rejoice that he was able to defeat the God of heaven and his people.

We need to realize that we are in a war. We need to know that God has allowed us to be involved in what He is doing. That does mean however that everything we do is being watched.

Satan is waiting for our fall. He wants to gloat over us. God give us grace to stand and having done all to stand faithfully for you!
