Testimony of New Missionaries to North Africa

My Testimony

My name is RZ. I am 24 years old. I accepted Christ in my heart nine years ago when I was 15 years old still being in high school. I was baptized at 16 years old en Victory Baptist Church in Arequipa, Peru. This time in my life was very difficult because as a young person I struggled in my heart wether to follow Christ with all my being or continue doing those vain things that did not help my relationship with God. I was very distanced from God but thanks to his power He changed my life radically. Just thinking about the situation gives me much nostalgia. I spoke with my pastor Ronald Tubillas and he helped me make the best decision to follow God alone. So I began helping in the church and I served as the youth pastor. I also served in the children’s church service and taught Sunday school. My preparation in the church was very important.

The Ministry

God called me to preach at the age of 17. At that time I entered the Bible college to study and work full time in the work of God. Thanks to Him I have finished my studies in the Seminary and have been pastoring a new work en Peruarbo which is in the city of Arequipa. Our church is called Antioch Baptist Church. After serving in this church for two years I met my wife A. We were married three years ago and we are currently waiting on our first child. This November 3rd will be five years as pastor of the church. God has blessed us with brothers who love God and with our own land.

My Call to Missions

As I studied in the seminary God gave me a burden to pray especially for Africa and the Muslim countries being that many people there have never heard the name of Christ. They live without the true God in the vanity of this world. I understood that there were still many places where the name of Christ was not being proclaimed. So at that time I gave my life to serve the Lord in missions before marrying my wife. Once I met Angela we shared this same dream that God would use us there. Since then we have been waiting on the Lord’s timing.

My Testimony

Mi name is AZ. I am 28 years old. I accepted Christ in my heart at 6 years of age and at 11 I was baptized in the city of Villa Rica Pasco, Peru, where I was born.

From very small, I loved God much. I helped in the children’s Sunday school and music. At 16 years of age I had the dream to be the wife of a pastor or missionary in Africa. I always saw the pictures of this place and it filled my heart with love at the same time a desire to be able to help people there that needed Christ. I saw in the photos people serving another god and they were wrong. But at 19 years of age I got far away from God as a result of many problems in my home that discouraged me. One day my brother got very sick and I remembered what I was doing with my life and I said to God, “Don’t take my brother from me. I will serve you.” But I forgot this promise and failed again.

After a while I got sick while I was in the city of Huancayo I went back to the Maranatha Baptist Church and during a certain sermon I remembered the promise that I had made to God and it was there I made the decision to go study in the seminary in Arequipa. Though I do not deserve it, God has blessed me in many ways. I met my husband RZ and we were married. Now I am helping in the Antioch Baptist Church teaching in the ladies ministry and also God has blessed me with a new baby on the way.

Now and always the only desire in my heart is that God would keep using me because I want to keep serving God wherever He wants me and where he leads my husband.
